Scorecrypt is a wrestling team management and tournament scoring platform designed for coaches, athletic directors, parents, and athletes. Our platform helps teams manage rosters, track competitions, and communicate safely.

What Personal Information We Collect From Children Under 13
When a child under 13 uses Scorecrypt, we collect the following information:

How We Use Your Child's Information
We use your child's personal information for the following purposes:
Service Delivery
- Creating and managing their athlete profile
- Assigning them to appropriate age and weight divisions
- Recording competition results and statistics
- Enabling team communication (with parent visibility)
Safety and Compliance
- Monitoring messages for child safety concerns
- Complying with SafeSport requirements
- Responding to mandatory reporting obligations
- Meeting state and federal child protection laws
Who We Share Your Child's Information With
We may share your child's information with the following third parties:

We do not:Sell your child's personal information. We do not share information for advertising purposes. We do not allow children to make their information publicly visible. We do not use any information involving your child to train, fine-tune, or improve generative AI models, our own or any third party's. This commitment mirrors Section 7.2 of our Terms of Service.
How Long We Keep Information
We retain your child's information for specific periods based on legal requirements and safety considerations:

Your Rights as a Parent
Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), you have the following rights:
- Review Information: Request a copy of all personal information we have collected about your child.
- Delete Information:Request deletion of your child's personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw Consent:Revoke your consent for future collection and use of your child's information. This will result in account closure.
- Refuse Third-Party Sharing: Opt out of third-party disclosure while still allowing internal use (see Two-Part Consent below).
- Access Messages: View all messages sent to or from your child through the platform at any time.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@scorecrypt.com with subject line "COPPA Rights Request." We will respond within 30 days.
Consent Options (COPPA 2025)
Under the 2025 COPPA Rule updates, we offer two-part consent. You may consent to each part separately:
Part A: Collection and Internal Use
Consent for Scorecrypt to collect and use your child's information for service delivery, including:
- Creating athlete profile and team roster
- Recording competition results
- Enabling platform communication (parent-visible)
- Safety monitoring and compliance
Required for platform use
Part B: Third-Party Disclosure
Consent for Scorecrypt to share your child's information with third parties, including:
- Tournament organizers (for event registration)
- AI content moderation services (message safety)
- Analytics providers (de-identified usage data)
Can be declined separately. Your child can still use Scorecrypt with limited functionality.
Note: Disclosure to law enforcement, child protection agencies, and for mandatory reporting is not subject to consent and will occur as required by law.
How We Verify Parent Consent
The FTC requires us to verify that consent is provided by an actual parent or guardian. Scorecrypt uses these verification methods:
- Email + SMS verification (Text-Plus VPC). We send a verification code to a phone number you provide. You confirm the code in the consent flow. This is our primary method.
- Signed consent form. For schools, districts, and Organizations that require a paper trail, we accept a physical or electronic signed consent form attached to the parent record.
If your Organization or jurisdiction requires a different verification method, contact privacy@scorecrypt.com before enrolling minor athletes and we will work with you on an acceptable alternative.

Annual Consent Renewal
COPPA requires that we periodically confirm your consent. Here's what to expect:
- 30-Day Reminder: You will receive an email reminder 30 days before your consent requires renewal.
- Annual Review: Each year, we will ask you to review and confirm your consent preferences.
- Update Options: You may update your consent preferences at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
- Non-Renewal:If consent is not renewed within 30 days of expiration, your child's account will be suspended pending re-consent.
