What This Page Is About

This page explains how Scorecrypt keeps your information safe. We want you to understand what happens with your data when you use our app.

What is a privacy policy? It's a promise about how we handle your information. Think of it like the rules we follow to protect you.

If you have questions, ask a parent or guardian. They can help explain anything that seems confusing.

What Information We Collect

When you use Scorecrypt, we collect some information about you:

  • Your name - So coaches and parents know who you are
  • Your email - So we can send you important messages
  • Your birthday - To put you in the right age group
  • Your state - Because different states have different rules
  • Messages you send - When you use our messaging feature

We only collect what we need. We don't ask for extra stuff that doesn't matter.

Why Your Parents Can See Your Messages

This is important: Your parents or guardians can see messages you send and receive on Scorecrypt.

This isn't to spy on you. It's the law. The law says we have to let parents see what's happening when kids use apps like ours. This helps keep you safe.

Coaches and team staff also know that parents can see messages. This keeps everyone honest and helps prevent problems.

How We Keep You Safe

We do a lot to protect you when you use Scorecrypt:

  • We check messages for safety - A computer program reads messages to look for anything that might be unsafe. If something seems wrong, a trained adult looks at it.
  • Adults have to pass checks - Coaches and other adults have to pass background checks and take safety training before they can message you.
  • Messages have time limits - Coaches can only message you during certain hours, not late at night.
  • Your info is locked up - We use special computer codes to keep your information safe from hackers.

If Something Feels Wrong

You can always report something. If anyone ever makes you feel uncomfortable or scared, tell someone right away.

Here's what you can do:

  1. Use the Report button in the app
  2. Tell a parent or guardian
  3. Tell a trusted adult like a teacher

You will never get in trouble for reporting something. We take all reports seriously.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information for different amounts of time, depending on what it is:

  • Regular messages - We keep these for 7 years. That's because the law says we have to.
  • Your profile - We keep this while you use Scorecrypt and for a few years after.
  • If something gets reported - We keep that information much longer to help keep kids safe.

When you stop using Scorecrypt, your parents can ask us to delete your information (except for things the law says we have to keep).

What You Can Do

You (and your parents) have rights over your information:

  • See your information - Ask to see what information we have about you
  • Fix mistakes - If something is wrong, we can fix it
  • Delete your account - Your parents can ask us to delete your account
  • Get a copy - Get a copy of your information to keep

Ask your parent or guardian to help you with any of these. They can email us at privacy@scorecrypt.com.

Questions?

If you have questions about your privacy, here's what to do:

  1. Talk to your parents first - They can explain things and help you understand.
  2. Ask your coach - They might be able to help with questions about how the app works.
  3. Email us - Your parents can email privacy@scorecrypt.com and we'll help.

For adults: See our full Privacy Policy or COPPA Notice for Parents.
